In more exciting festival circuit news, the film ISLANDS, lensed by Vanguarde DP Diego Guijarro, will have its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Online Film Festival!
ISLANDS focuses on Joshua, a timid, middle-aged Filipino immigrant in Canada who has lived in the comfort of his parents’ care his entire life. When his mother suddenly passes and his father’s health declines, he quits his job to look after his father despite his inexperience taking care of anyone, including himself. The film will play as part of the 2021 Narrative Feature Competition, and is director Martin Edralin’s first feature. SXSW Online 2021 runs from March 16-20.
